Cadw, working in partnership with Powys County Council, would like to commission an artist to produce a decorative well cover for Ffynnon Llywelyn.
The well is traditionally linked with the death of Llywelyn ap Gruffudd, Prince of Wales, and is located close to the stone monument erected in his memory on the edge of the small village of Cilmeri near Builth Wells.
The purpose of the commission is to create a visual artistic interpretation of the event, in materials suitable for the outdoor, all year round environment.
Artists wishing to apply for this commission must provide a C.V., letter of application, and six images of their recent commissions demonstrating use of materials relevant to an unstaffed outdoor environment and an understanding of heritage.
Proposals must be returned to David Jones, Interpretation Officer, by midday Monday 15th July 2013. Full details can be found by downloading the commission brief.
