A Charles Dickens Christmas at Castell Coch

Thursday 14 November 2013

Need a break from your Christmas shopping? Fancy doing something a bit different this festive season?

Castell Coch

Castell Coch

Come to Castell Coch on 13 and 14 December for an unconventional evening of readings from Charles Dickens’ well- and lesser-known Christmas works at the Christmas with Dickens event.

Travel back to 1850 to meet our honoured guests — John Jarndyce from Bleak House and Betsey Trotwood from David Copperfield — who will be appearing ‘in person’ to quote from the works of this sublime storyteller.

Listen to their humorous quips and comments as they read from classic tales such as The Pickwick Papers, The Christmas Tree and A Christmas Carol, along with newspaper articles from the period. Dickens revealed their failings to the public, and this is their chance to turn the tables — with good humour and loving admiration!

After the tremendous tales have concluded you can round off the evening with an authentic Victorian supper in the Banqueting Hall of Castell Coch. It’s a dining experience that’s not to be missed!

Tickets for these exclusive evenings — which are limited — cost £30 per head for the readings and supper or £12 for the readings only. To book call the castle on 029 2081 0101.
