Cadw sites — festive opening 2013

Monday 23 December 2013

Take time over the festive break to visit our magnificent monuments.

Cadw’s sites will be closed on 24, 25, 26 December and 1 January — with the exception of Carreg Cennen Castle, which will be open on 24 December, 26 December and 1 January.

Most sites will, however, be open from 27 to 31 December. Why not take a festive stroll at an unstaffed site — or enjoy a family day out at a major monument like Conwy Castle, Caerphilly Castle or Tintern Abbey?

To make it easy to plan your trip, here’s a list of staffed Cadw sites that will be open from 27 to 31 December. (Click on the site’s name to see full opening times.)

Many unstaffed (and free!) sites will also be open from 27 to 31 December. See the Days Out section for details of stunning standing stones and romantic ruins that are ideal locations for a seasonal stroll.

Please note that all Cadw sites will be closed on 1 January 2014. Normal winter opening hours will resume from 2 January — except at Castell Coch, which will be closed for decorating and maintenance work.
