The Castles and Town Walls of King Edward I celebrate 30 years of World Heritage Site status by welcoming delegates from across the UK heritage industry.
Caernarfon, Conwy, Harlech and Beaumaris Castles —which collectively form a UNESCO World Heritage Site — are set to host the annual World Heritage UK conference on 10–11 October.
The conference welcomes all with an interest in the heritage, and particularly those working within the industry, to enjoy three days of networking, speakers, workshops and visits, including trips around the castles and to the nearby National Slate Museum in Llanberis.
The conference will explore the theme “Why World Heritage Matters”, with speakers including:
• Helen Maclagan, UK National Commission for UNESCO
• Sir Neil Cossons OBE, Trustee of HLF
• Sally Smith, British Council
• Marcello Sanguinetti and Sue Davies, Gibraltar Museum
• Sam Rose, Chair of WH:UK
The full programme of speakers and events is available online here.
How do I book my place?
Tickets range from free to WH:UK voting members, to £150 for non-members attending both days, while students pay a concessionary fee of only £30 per day. Tickets can be booked online here.
