The Board has been created as part of a series of business improvements that are being taken forward following the recent review of Cadw that concluded it should remain within Government. Further details of the review can be found here:

We are seeking applications for a Chair and two Non-Executive Members to the Board with relevant experience and expertise in one, or more, of the following fields:

  • commercial and marketing
  • historic environment protection and public engagement
  • historic properties and estates management

We are looking for board members who have the ability to:

  • develop an in-depth insight into the issues facing the historic environment and help shape long term strategies focused on adding value for the citizens of Wales
  • constructively challenge bureaucratic decision-making, assumptions and processes to create an effective organisation 
  • interpret a wide range of financial and performance information, using this to  evaluate performance and continually question the value of activities against strategic priorities 
  • demonstrate sound judgment and make effective decisions
  • build mutually supportive working relationships with other board members and the executive.
