Volunteering at Caernarfon Castle

Caernarfon Castle

Caernarfon Castle

Exciting volunteering opportunities are available at Caernarfon Castle, one of the most impressive of Wales’s castles.  We currently have vacancies for costumed interpretation performer volunteers.

The site of Caernarfon Castle was previously the location of a Norman motte and bailey castle and a Roman fort stood nearby before that. The banks of the River Seiont made this an ideal spot for this King Edward I monster in masonry, with Polygonal towers and colour-coded stones carefully arranged in bands. This was the birthplace of the first English Prince of Wales, in 1284, and in 1969, the location of the investiture of the current Prince of Wales, HRH Prince Charles.

If you would like to support the visitor experience and help the custodians in bringing this World Heritage status site to life to our visitors, please complete and return the online application form to: CaernarfonCastle@gov.wales and we will get back to you.
