Cadw is working in partnership with two Time bank/credit schemes; the Spice Time Credit network and Timebank UK to increase the accessibility of local and national monuments across Wales.
The scheme enables their volunteers, who work in support of their local communities, to visit all of the historic monuments in Cadw care, in recognition of their work. This supports community volunteering and the benefits that brings. It also helps individuals experience Cadw sites and their history — maybe for the first time.
Two Spice Time Credits — or — One Timebanking UK Cadw Voucher, allows free entry into any Cadw charged site (except for special events where additional charges may apply). Time Credits are also accepted for specific education activity visit sessions.
Our offer with each partner is tailored to meet the needs of the different models of volunteering each has. Further activities and events are being explored with both as our partnerships develop.
Why not get a Time Credit group together and enjoy a day out with a difference, at one of our fun to explore Cadw sites. If you do, we ask that you call your chosen site in advance to ensure they can accommodate your group.
If you send us a photo of your timebank day out at a Cadw site, with your permission to use it, we may use it in our promotion of Time banking and credit visits.
If you use social media to record your visit, please remember to tag your visit posts/tweets with @cadwwales or #Cadw. And, you could also add just one of these:
• if you are a Spice time credit Volunteer, add @justaddspice
• if you are a timebanking UK volunteer, add @TimebankingUK
This offer only applies to Cadw managed sites.
