Take a tour of the night sky, viewing familiar and unfamiliar constellations of the northern hemisphere, find various deep sky objects such as the Orion Nebula and learn the correct use of binoculars and navigation via star maps.
You will also be shown how to set up a telescope correctly before viewing and then photographing some of the magnificent sights in the night sky. No prior knowledge or equipment needed, but feel free to bring both!
Sessions are suitable for those aged 12 and above.
Attendees are advised to arrive from 8.30pm and to wear warm clothes and suitable footwear and to bring a torch and a blanket.
Prepare to wait: Bring something to sit or lie down on. Star gazing is a waiting game, so get comfortable.
To book a space please contact Allan Trow at Dark Sky Wales Direct on 07403402114.
There are provisions to ensure that even if the weather is a little unaccommodating there will still be opportunities to use the equipment and learn about the skies, but there is a risk of the activity being cancelled in the event of forecast heavy rain, gales or blanket cloud cover. In this instance we will contact you in advance, as arrangements can be made for you to get a exchange on your experience day or ideally we can rearrange for a future date.
