Discover Tintern Abbey as it was when the nation proudly took over its care. Old photographs dating from the turn of the nineteenth century will show you the state of the abbey at that time. Comparing these photographs with the present views of the abbey will highlight the important and extensive conservation works undertaken to preserve and protect the monument. Follow the guided tour to learn about the building and conservation of the abbey and the challenges faced to ensure it is preserved for future generations.
