To celebrate the event’s 15th Birthday, Harlech Triathlon offers a festival of sport and history for triathletes, duathletes and their supporters.
Entries are now open at http://www.harlechtriathlon.org.uk
To mark the opening of the new Castle Visitor Centre (and of course our 15th Birthday) CADW and the Custodian of the Castle have given us permission to place the finish line for the Triathlon and the Fun Run inside the Castle. The Triathlon poster shows the view competitors will see as they cross the line.
To Storm the Castle competitors will climb the path from the 13th Century Water Gate. With 200 steps along the way this will certainly be a challenge, but as always Harlech Triathlon will be an event to suit both experienced and novice competitors.
Harlech Duathlon — Welsh Sprint Championships 2016
For those who enjoy a run/bike/run challenge Harlech Duathlon provides a spectacular event. The first run shares the same route as the Triathlon along the spectacular shoreline of the Cambrian Coast. The bike ride also shares the same sheltered route to a turnaround in the centre of Harlech. The second run to Storm the Castle provides the challenge of climbing the 1 in 4 Harlech zig zags to reach the finish in Castle Square.
The Duathlon is an open event. This year Harlech has the honour of being selected by the Welsh Triathlon Association as the Welsh National Sprint Duathlon Championships.
Harlech 3K Fun Run (or Walk) — All Ages Welcome
This popular event starts from the Beach Car Park at 12.30 and finishes Inside the Castle. Everyone welcome. Triathlon and Duathlon competitors receive a free entry to the run so they can run with their family and friends.
Competitors receive a finisher medal and free bacon buttie or veggie burger. Free guided walks are available on Sat. 2nd and competitors and their supporters free access to the Castle, its visitor centre and exhibitions on race day.
