Historic Environment Policy
The historic environment is central to Wales’s heritage and traditions and its character contributes to our sense of place and cultural identity. It enhances quality of life and adds to regional and local distinctiveness. It is an important economic and social asset. This section deals with policies, strategies and practical actions to ensure that the historic environment is appreciated, protected and made accessible, as well as ways of positively managing change.

We aim to reconnect with many of the intrinsic qualities and stories of our sites, ones that are embedded in their heritage so they can be revealed for our visitors.Find out more
