Partnerships and Projects

Cadw’s philosophy is to work with partners whenever possible, because this leads to a more meaningful outcome. We work with a number of Wales-wide organisations but also many regional or local partners.

Partnerships help to inform the priorities and policies which govern much of what Cadw does. This includes heritage protection; public access; promoting heritage tourism and education and lifelong learning. The primary partnership forum for the heritage sector in Wales is the Historic Environment Group.

Formal partnerships exist for delivering important and continuing areas of work. Other new partnerships are being developed to help plan and deliver emerging priorities such as heritage and the arts; cultural and heritage tourism.

Cadw is also actively involved in many local and regional partnerships, particularly those which deliver specific projects or initiatives linked to major external funding such as the EU Funded Heritage Tourism Project.
