Open Doors events at Cadw sites

During September 2021 — 18 Cadw sites will feature in the programme of events for Open Doors

Our contribution to the wider programme for 2021 will run as follows:

Staffed sites

7 of our staffed monuments offer site access without charge on select dates in September only.

To guarantee free entry to our participating staffed sites, visitors are strongly advised to book Open Doors tickets for their monument of choice — tickets will be required for all party members, including children.

Walk-ins will also be accepted at our participating staffed monuments, but only if the site has not already reached its maximum visitor capacity. With a capped number of tickets available, we expect our free entry spaces to fill up very quicky, so we strongly advise booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

How to visit during Open Doors:

  • book your free tickets online in advance to guarantee entry
  • book a free ticket for every member of your party (including children)
  • bring your face covering, to be worn in all indoor areas.

Unstaffed sites

11 of our unstaffed sites, many of which are usually closed to the public, will also offer guided tours for free on select dates in September.
Due to the small and unique nature of our participating unstaffed sites, a limited number of spaces will be available for each guided tour event, with visitors required to book compulsory tickets in advance on the Cadw website.
