Built with public donations as a memorial to local residents who fought and perished during the First World War, the Memorial Hall was opened by former Prime Minister, David Lloyd George, in 1924, and still contains some original Art Deco features, including the curved oak doors inset with glass panels, which surround the quarry-tiled Memorial Foyer.
There is more recent artwork in the garden, accessed through the ornate wrought iron gates donated by the Criccieth Women’s Institute, as well as Y Garreg Orchest (lifting stone), with links to ancient Welsh traditions.

To celebrate the Hall's centenary, people are invited to join a tour of the building and its grounds, where they will hear stories of the hall and its influences over the past 100 years.
The tour will also include backstage areas, rarely seen by members of the public but familiar to the hundreds of artistes who have performed here over the decades, including Gerry and the Pacemakers, who first heard one of their most famous songs performed here.
There will be an opportunity to ask questions and share your own memories over a panad at the end.

Free of charge, but booking required.
