No need to leave the most important family member at home on your next adventure; we’ve got pet friendly castles, abbeys and great houses with plenty of room for stretching everyone’s legs after a long journey.

Abaty Tyndyrn / Tintern Abbey

Browse our list of dog friendly sites below; if you need more information about our onsite facilities please call our custodian team directly for site specific information.

Unfortunately, a limited number of our historic places do not allow dogs (other than assistance dogs) for safety reasons or to protect delicate interior fabrics and only assistance dogs trained by Assistance Dogs UK or their member organisations and police search dogs may access the upper levels.

Please note:

To ensure all our visitors have a ‘pawsome’ day out please keep all four legged friends under control and on a short lead at all times; clean up after your pet and enjoy access to the ground floors only.

Please be aware that in the interests of safety site staff have the discretion to refuse entry to dogs that are not under control or on a lead.

Contact numbers and information regarding accessibility at our sites can be found on our monument pages. For a full list of all our sites please check our Visit section.
