Dedwyddfa is one of two properties in Ruthin designed by the renowned Victorian architect, John Douglas. His practice was based in Chester and he worked extensively for the Duke of Westminster and, in this case, for the Cornwallis-Wests of Ruthin Castle. The house originally had a large coach house in the garden; this was sold and developed in the 1970s. The house is listed and has many of the original garden features surviving. The house (and its neighbour) are located either side of Bryn Goodman and, when built, were in a very convenient location for the nearby station, which has also been demolished.

Booking required. On each of the two weekend days, Saturday September 7 and Sunday September 8, there will be two tours of the interior of Dedwyddfa. Spaces will be limited so book early to avoid disappointment. Tours will take place at 11am and 3pm on each of the days. Please email opendoorsruthin@outlook.com to make your booking, stating the day and time you require.
