The English Presbyterian Church was officially opened and dedicated on 18th May 1893.

A contemporary description says "The new building is distinctly an ornament to Ruthin, being carried out in pure Gothic style, and it stands in a charming situation, quite close to the centre of town and the station, at the same time affording from its grounds a magnificent prospect of the Vale and its confining mountains. The structure is of Eyarth limestone, a hard pink variety that is very effective when used in this case. The main portion of the outside walls is undressed, each stone being tooled only on the edge, while the quoins of the corners and buttresses are dressed and the architectural result is excellent".

The building is gothic in style and has some interesting stained-glass windows of an unusual style for a non-conformist chapel. One stained-glass panel commemorates Edith Evans, who organised the Women's Peace petition in Ruthin.

No booking required during the day of 7th - 8th September.

There will also be a talk about the Women's Peace Petition of 1923/4 in the English Presbyterian Church on Friday evening, September 6th. To book contact opendoorsruthin@outlook.com and see the separate entry on this website.

There will be a service in the church on the Sunday morning, September 8th, and then the church will open for Open Doors at 12 noon. All are welcome at the Service.
