Open to the public for the first time, join The Landmark Trust at Plas Uchaf, on Saturday 7 - Sunday 8 September, 10am-4pm. This building will be opening as part of Cadw Open Doors. Explore the building and find out more about its history and restoration.

This substantial hall-house was built in about 1400 and is situated on the side of a low hill in the Dee valley, an area filled with scenery, wildlife and history. Few houses of this age survive in Wales and the quality of work at Plas Uchaf is exceptional.

Plas Uchaf sits on the side of a low hill in the Dee valley, near Corwen, in the heart of the North Wales countryside. It is within easy reach of Eryri (Snowdonia). The breathtaking Lake Bala is 20 minutes' drive away.

Follow the A5 west through Llangollen and Corwen. Two miles after leaving Corwen you pass a farm shop on the left, turn sharp left immediately after the Rhug Farm Shop signposted Cynwyd and go up the hill. Plas Uchaf is on the right after about half a mile, on a left-hand bend on top of a hill. The entrance is on the far side of the building.
Ruabon railway station (16 miles) is served by trains from Wolverhampton. Buses run from Wrexham and Llangollen to Corwen. Contact Tourist Information for service details.
