Ruthin Archives, part of the North East Wales Archives, are based in an old Gaol in Clwyd Street Ruthin.
The search room and exhibitions are in parts of the building constructed in the early to mid 19th century, whilst much of the storage of archives is in the old gaol cells.

North East Wales Archives at Ruthin Gaol is open on Saturday 7 September to mark the one-hundred-year
anniversary of the Women’s Peace Petition looking at what Denbighshire was like one hundred years ago. An exhibition will highlight the decade known as The Roaring Twenties, a decade of change, fashion and campaigning.

Ruthin is well served by public transport from Corwen, Chester, Denbigh, Rhyl, Wrexham and beyond. Clwyd Street is a short walk from the main bus stops in Market Street and Wynnstay Road.
