Car Parking Information

There are no dedicated parking facilities available on site however there are two car parks which are run by the council – Crescent Road and Twyn – which are 750m and 30m away from the entrance respectively

Site Access

There is vehicular access to the site however vehicles must weigh less than 3 tons and be no taller than a Luton which will only go through 1st set of doors to the site

Access for restricted mobility

The site is accessible however visitors will need to be aware of the grass and gravel surfaces. In the main, visitors with restricted mobility will only be able to access the ground floors

  • Snacks are available from the gift shop
  • There are toilet facilities available including facilities for those with restricted mobility
  • Baby changing facilities are also available
  • Induction loops available 
  • Tables benches, chairs are available.
  • Low counters available on site
  • Mobile connectivity is good

Licences

The site holds PRS and PPL licences. The site also holds a licence for the consumption of alcohol (held by Cresta Caterers).

Interior Spaces

Great Hall – 30ft x 70ft – Maximum capacity of 200 people although there is a capacity of 150 people for a sit down function

Power facilities on site for hirers

Yes – events socket in the Lady’s Tower (Drum Tower) accessing 3 pin mains power supply. Also mains supply available opposite the Visitor Centre from an external waterproof socket

Yes – Mains water supply

Ground Pegs allowed?

Yes – maximum depth of 110mm – 4 inches on site apart from opposite the Visitor Centre where longer pegs are allowed. There are no marquees allowed on the Inner Ward.

Any restricted areas?

None - apart from during conservation and maintenance works.
