The Christmas spirit is well and truly at Cadw sites this December, with an exceptional range of things to do and presents to buy this festive season.

Cadw’s 8 ‘must-do’ things for Christmas 2019 …

1. Ice skate at Wales’s largest castle

From 6 December to 6 January, Caerphilly Castle will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland, where guests can enjoy outdoor skating on a real ice rink, indulge in treats from a pop-up cafe and get involved in other seasonal activities.

2. Visit Santa at a Cadw site

Come and see Father Christmas at Blaenavon Ironworks and Chepstow Castle this Christmas and make unique memories for the whole family! English and Welsh sessions available (see website for more detail of these events).

3. Christmas events at Cadw monuments

Christmas Festivities at Plas Mawr, Christmas Tales at Caerleon Baths, a Medieval Christmas at Chepstow Castle and Tretower Court and Castle’s Christmas Fayre are just some of the fantastic seasonal events at Cadw sites in December. 4. Get Frozen at Cadw shops

Do you want to build a snowman? Or maybe buy one instead? Our range of limited edition Frozen characters are available at Castell Coch, Caerphilly Castle, Raglan Castle, Harlech Castle & Conwy Castle. Choose from Olaf, Elsa, Anna, Sven, Kristoff or Samantha (okay, not Samantha).

 

5. Buy a bespoke bauble

Visit Raglan Castle or Conwy Castle to buy one of our beautiful bespoke baubles, the prefect addition for any Christmas tree.
