Girlguiding Cymru launches new challenge in partnership with Cadw to celebrate Welsh heritage
The Castell Cariad Challenge is a new initiative from Girlguiding Cymru and Cadw.
The project aims to encourage girls and volunteers to explore castles and other historic sites in Wales as well as a range of fun history activities, and girls who complete the challenge can receive a certificate and a badge.
Visit a castle
So it's time to get creative, explore the nature around some of the ancient castles peppered over the Welsh countryside and coastline, or just enjoy the calmness of the spaces and the echoes of the past that resonate in the stones around you.
As part of the guiding family, groups can access Cadw charging sites for free if booking in advance under Cadw’s Education Visits offer.
To find a Cadw monument, visit the Find a Place to Visit area of the Cadw website.
Girlguiding Cymru is the leading charity for girls and young women in Wales, with nearly 11,000 young members. With over 1,100 groups meeting weekly powered by over 3,000 volunteers and active in every part of Wales.
