Visit Criccieth Castle

Criccieth Castle does not have a car park, however parking is permitted on the road around the castle: Google maps view

There are several charing car parks in the town within walking/pushing distance of the castle, including a paid local authority car park approximately 300 meters away.

The castle is situated on a road with a moderate incline.

There is also a cycle rack available outside the visitor centre.

The visitor centre has two levels, the ground floor is a shop and admissions area, and the lower ground area is an exhibition space. The lower ground area can be accessed via a couple of steps or using our accessible platform lift.

The pathway leading up to the castle is around 70 meters and very steep with around 10 staggered stone steps spread out. A handrail is available on part of the pathway.

Toilets: there is a single accessible toilet onsite. There are no baby changing facilities.

Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and non-assistance dogs must remain on the ground floor only.

Once at the top of the hill, the castle is all on one level and is mostly laid to grass (some gravel and uneven areas).
