Climate change is real, and poses a number of different issues to the historic environment of communities right across Europe.

As part of the CHARTS (Cultural and Heritage Added value to Regional policies for Tourism & Sustainability) Interreg IVC project, a seminar on climate change was hosted by Cadw at Plas Mawr, Conwy in September 2012, and examined a number of best practices developed within Wales and Ireland to assist the historic environment to meet the challenges of climate change.

Cadw has developed a good practice guide and power point presentation about how to prepare the environment for climate change, so that this best practice can be shared with communities across Europe.  The booklet has also been condensed into a six-page booklet, summarising the best practice for the media and members of the public.
