Cadw £1 ticket – for those on Universal Credit and other named benefits
Cadw is the Welsh Government’s Historic Environment Service, responsible for over 130 historic places across Wales.
Over 100 of these heritage sites are open and free to visit with no admission charge, however we charge admission to others, with the money made reinvested into the care of our properties.
As part of a trial initiative to widen access to heritage, Cadw’s £1 Universal Credit ticket is now available to book for three historic places: Blaenafon Ironworks, Castell Caernarfon and Chepstow Castle. Cadw’s £1 Universal Credit tickets are available to all those in receipt of qualifying Universal Credit benefits:
- Pension Credit
- Working Tax Credit
- Child Tax Credit
- Employment and Support Allowance
- Income Support
- Jobseekers Allowance
The £1 Universal Credit ticket can be purchased in advance on the Cadw website. £1 tickets are not available to buy at Cadw visitor centres.
