This building was built in 1882, and it was a police station until 1973.
The Porthcawl Museum occupied two rooms between 1977-2014 and then, in 2015, the Porthcawl Museum Committee was given a lease from BCBC for the whole ground floor and six rooms on Floor 1 which are now the archives. The ground floor now houses eighteen exhibitions, with two new ones in the process of being created.

Porthcawl hosts the largest Elvis Festival in Britain every September. The museum is supporting the festival by displaying all Elvis's albums and by providing a young Elvis impersonator. Plus there'll be volunteers in relevant dress.
2025 is the 21st Elvis Festival which is part of Porthcawl's 200-year-old history, 1825-2025.
