The museum is the childhood home of Sir Henry Jones (1852-1922) who, from humble origins, became an eminent Professor of Moral Philosophy at Glasgow University and a major influence on the education system in Wales.

Visit this fascinating museum of Welsh rural life and:
• Find out about Henry Jones and the story of his struggle for education
• Wander through the tiny kitchen and bedroom where the family of six ate and slept
• See the displays on Victorian life in a typical Welsh community
• Relax in the cottage garden, which is being restored.

The Sir Henry Jones Museum exists to commemorate the achievements of Sir Henry Jones, and to interpret his life in the context of a 19th century Welsh rural community. This is accomplished through museum collections, displays and educational materials.

Volunteers will be on hand to show visitors around and refreshments will be available.

Visitors can also find out about the other points of interest in the village, including the chapels, church, the yew which is reputed to be the oldest living thing in Europe, the Pilgrim's trail and Hafodunos.

No booking required.
