Cadw is implementing the UK Government’s Great British Summer Savings campaign and is passing on the reduced VAT rate saving for visits from 25 June to 1 September 2026.
Tabernacle is a Baptist chapel where all services are conducted in the Welsh language. The Church celebrated 200 years of Christian witness in the city centre in October 2013. It is Grade 2* listed building from the Victorian era. The stained glass windows are in memory of Rev. Charles Davies, former minister from 1888 - 1927. The two front windows depict the Baptism of Christ and the Last Supper. The 100-year-old organ has been restored.
Visitors may walk around the church quite freely, pause to reflect, sit and listen. Members of the church will be present to welcome and escort visitors, and answer any questions. There are also leaflets with information available for visitors. There will be an organ recital by one of the chapel organists during the visit.
