Whitland Abbey was an important Cistercian Abbey, founded in 1151.
At the time of the dissolution the building was razed to the ground and only ruins, in the form of low level medieval stone walls covered with grass, are visible. The outline of the original building can still be seen and a few of the original medieval walls still remain among the later Victorian additions.

For Open Doors, there will be talks and an exhibition on the important history of the Abbey, informal tours, quizzes and various children’s activities, re-enactments and demonstrations of medieval life and crafts.

No booking required.
