Wales — All areas currently in local lockdowns.

England — All Tier 2 and 3 regions in England.

Scotland — Those areas of central Scotland under heightened restrictions.

Northern Ireland — All of Northern Ireland.

Anybody living in these areas who has already purchased a ticket to visit a Cadw site will be offered a full refund.

Pre-booking your tickets to our staffed sites is essential, site entry timed tickets can be purchased by general visitors and reserved by our members on our online booking page.

Book tickets

Tickets are released every Monday morning for the following week. For example, on Monday 14 September, tickets will be released for bookable visits during w/c 21 September.

Following Welsh Government’s recent announcement, visitors will be required to wear face masks while exploring any indoor areas of our reopened sites from Monday 14 September.

Tickets are available for am and pm sessions with sites closed between 1–2pm.

Please select the site you wish to visit, the date and time to receive your e-ticket(s) for your purchase / reservation.

Please be aware — we are unable to refund or transfer purchased tickets so be sure you are able to visit on the date you have booked.

At some sites, including Caernarfon Castle and Tintern Abbey, there is restricted access due to essential conservation or development works. As a consequence, Caernarfon Castle admission price is reduced by 50% while adults tickets to Tintern are reduced to just £5.

On behalf of everyone at Cadw, we’d like to thank all of our members and visitors for their ongoing support and patience during this time, it’s allowed us to effectively plan ahead for the safe reopening of our major heritage sites.
