Visit Plas Mawr

There are two dedicated accessible parking spaces on the roadside adjacent to the monument: Google maps view

There are two medium/large charging car parks within a few minutes’ walk (approx. 200 meters) of the castle entrance, both with accessible parking spaces.

The walk from these car parks is flat and even.

The small gift shop where tickets can be purchased is located within Plas Mawr’s gatehouse.

From the shop to the main house is around 30 meters, consisting of cobbles and a flight of steps. Wheelchair access can be arranged via a side entrance, please call ahead (01492 573605) or ask our staff in the gift shop.

Toilets are available onsite, including an accessible toilet with baby changing facilities.

Assistance dogs only are allowed into the monument and must be kept on leads at all times.

There are many steps to negotiate throughout the three floors at Plas Mawr with wheelchair access available to some areas of the ground floor of main house only.

Staircases and floors throughout the house are wooden and may be uneven in places. Please also be aware of high thresholds and low door heights at room entrances, as well as low roof trusses in attic.

The observation Tower is accessed via a steep ladder style staircase.
