Join Suzanne and Tony from the Dory Gallery in Llangollen for 2 days of art classes and photography workshops at Denbigh Castle.

Photography workshop with a Model in Costume - 10:30am-12:30pm

Friday - our model is Rob (10:30am-12:30pm).

Saturday - our model is Rachel (10:30am-12:30pm).

 

Bring: A camera (or a high-quality camera phone). Any make/model of DSLR camera or smartphone… please remember to ensure it is charged and in a good working condition. A tripod is also useful but not essential.

Opportunity to photograph our models at several locations within the stunning castle walls.

With Tony’s guidance, you will cover both the technical and artistic areas of photography.

Whether you are a compete beginner or feel you have a reasonable level of experience, this workshop will be suitable for any skill level. It will be conducted in a relaxed atmosphere.

Subjects covered include camera controls, exposure compensation, depth of field plus the more artistic side of photography such as composition and the use of light to create an image with impact and mood.

 

Art Workshop - Life Drawing with a Model in Costume 2-4pm

Friday - our model is Rob (2-4pm). 

Saturday - our model is Rachel (2-4pm).

 

Bring: Your usual kit. This can include: sketchpad, pencils, charcoal, graphite sticks, inks, watercolours, masking tape, putty rubber/eraser, kitchen roll, tissue etc. Easel if you have one. Beginner’s - a sketchpad and pencils.

Opportunity to draw our models at several locations within the stunning castle walls. The workshop will be made up of shorter poses and a longer, sustained pose and will focus on: The basic principles of life drawing, using measuring techniques, plotting negative spaces and learning composition. Also some clothing/drapery techniques. All levels welcome.

Max 80 people over both days. 20 tickets per session. Aimed at adults.

Guests must bring their own cameras and art supplies.
