Learn how to make a patch of chainmail in the medieval grounds of Chepstow Castle.

Receive expert tuition and guidance from maille makers Mark Hale and Phil Parkes (winner of Heritage Crafts Wales Maker of the Year 2024) who will demonstrate how to link and rivet rings, enabling you to create a small patch of maille to take home. 

All materials and tools will be provided. Minimum age 10+; all under 16s must be accompanied by an adult (separate ticket required).

Session times:

  • 10.30am

  • 11.30am

  • 1.30pm

  • 2.30pm

Sessions will last approximately 45 minutes. Please arrive at the castle 10 minutes before your start time.

This is a ticketed event and booking is strongly advised.

General admission to the castle must also be purchased, either in advance online or upon arrival.
