GWREIDDIAU (Roots) is coming to Bryn Celli Ddu on the 22 June 2024, to celebrate the 10th year anniversary of the project, through folklore, community procession and performance.

Known as one of the most evocative archaeological sites in Britain, the 5,000-year-old monument was once constructed to protect and pay respect to the remains of ancestors.

The event will include:

  • A panel Q&A with Stone Club, Dr Ffion Reynolds and Kristoffer Hughes, Chief of the Anglesey Druid Order.
  • The first ever performance by Ancient Music Ireland of the Llyn Cerrig Bach replica instruments
  • Community procession inspired by folklore and the landscape
  • A ritual theatre performance
  • Opportunities to visit the current archaeological excavation trench
  • Explore the site and discover our ancient ancestor talismans

The event is a collaboration between Cadw, Think Creatively, Arts Council Wales, Môn CF, Galeri Caernarfon, Oriel Môn, Manchester Metropolitan University, and Geo Môn.
