Exciting New Digital Learning Resource for Young Explorers

Back in 2021 Cadw’s Lifelong Learning team and Castell Conwy partnered up with Pigtown Theatre, Shakes VR, Disability Arts Conwy, Conwy Cultural Centre and eight other organisations on an exciting Virtual Reality project.

VR represenation of Castell Conwy

Conceived and led by Pigtown Theatre and funded by Arts Council Wales Connect and Flourish Grant, Cadw was excited to be part of this inspiring new way of creating accessibility to our heritage.

Aptly named BeConwy, this foray into a virtual world was so inspiring and original it broke the mould of live virtual experiences!

So, we did it again! offering 120 bi-lingual sessions to schools across Wales to join us, using avatars, to navigate through a virtual Castell Conwy, solving clues to get to Queen Eleanor’s Garden.

What’s more we have a brand-new learning resource as well!

Come and create your own digital flowers, meet Jackdaw Bach and create a party for Queen Eleanor as you take a peek inside the virtual castle.

Would you like to visit a castle near you?

Our educational visits are free – please check our Education pages for advice and guidance on how to book.
