Open Doors - 58-60 High Street, “Star Shop”
Edwardian unified refronting to an earlier pair of buildings. The “Star Shop” was the premises of R Owen and Son in the early part of this century, who were 'grocers, provision, corn and flour merchants'. Two nearidentical shop fronts, the one on the right has 'Star Shop' in decorative glass in the cambered overlight above. In recent years it was a branch of the Halifax Building Society.
The 2025 Denbigh Open Doors Weekend launches on Friday19th September 2025 with an evening lecture that explores property deeds at the Theatr Twm o'r Nant. Over the following two days, Saturday and Sunday 20th and 21st September 2025 from 10am to 5pm, over thirty historically important sites in the locale will be open to the public, supplemented by talks and guided tours. A booking service for the free sites, talks and guided tours offering a limited number of places will be available through Denbigh Library, closer to the start of the weekend.
