Ainon is a Grade II* former Primitive Baptist chapel, currently in the ownership of Addoldai Cymru. It is a particularly well-preserved, mid-19th century Baptist chapel retaining its largely unaltered exterior and interior character. It was described in The Buildings of Wales: Gwynedd (2009) as ‘a charming rural chapel of massive field stones, near-square with deep flat eaves and domestic doors and windows’ with attention also drawn to the simple panelled tall pulpit.
This is an opportunity to see inside the chapel, meet with former members and view a selection of documents relating to the chapel.
Address - Ainon Chapel, Llanuwchllyn, Gwynedd, LL23 7UE.
Ainon is situated on the main A494 road between Dolgellau and Llanuwchllyn.
