Caernarfon Archives is located on the side of Victoria Dock in the town of Caernarfon. The Record Office protects over 800 years of the area's history. The collection includes a document dating back to 1177 and letters signed by Charles the 1st and Oliver Cromwell as well as diaries, letters, deeds, parish registers, newspapers, photos and maps and reflects the rich history of the county.

Slate theme an opportunity to see our collections related to the slate industry, also an opportunity to go behind the scenes to show how we keep documents and also how we protect them.

Directions - from the south or north along the A487 - when you arrive at the destination at the bottom of the bypass, follow signs towards Victoria Dock / Archives / Gallery.
