Capel Pendref was originally erected in 1802. The present late 19th century Chapel retains its original character and is a fine example of its period. Substantial restoration has recently been completed.
The Wesleyans, or Wesleyan Methodists, were the smallest of the major nonconformist denominations which grew in Wales in the 19th century, after the Calvinistic Methodists, the independents and the Baptists.
