Open Doors - Denbigh Town Hall Chambers
This is one of few civic buildings in Britain constructed entirely during the First World War. It stands on the site of an earlier market hall and originally had a domed roof. It was designed as a combined town hall, market hall and fire station. The town council previously met in the 16th century county hall, which now houses the Denbigh Library and is the central meeting hub throughout the Denbigh Open Doors Weekend. The council chamber is still used by the town council.
The 2025 Denbigh Open Doors Weekend launches on Friday19th September 2025 with an evening lecture that explores property deeds at the Theatr Twm o'r Nant. Over the following two days, Saturday and Sunday 20th and 21st September 2025 from 10am to 5pm, over thirty historically important sites in the locale will be open to the public, supplemented by talks and guided tours. A booking service for the free sites, talks and guided tours offering a limited number of places will be available through Denbigh Library, closer to the start of the weekend.
