Glamorgan Archives is a local authority archive service for the authorities of Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taff and the Vale of Glamorgan. It collects, preserves and makes available to the public documents from the area dating from the 12th century to the present day. Over 12km of documents are held in the strongrooms of its purpose-built facility.

11am – Getting Started with Family History
1.30pm – Using Newspapers for Family and Local History Research

Explore documents recording hundreds of years of the history of Glamorgan. And find out more about the fascinating work that goes on in the conservation studio with demonstrations from the team.
Staff will be on hand to offer advice and guidance on starting and continuing your research - be it local history, house history, family history, a school or university project, or anything else!

Free parking is available onsite.

The Glamorgan Archives building is fully accessible. The tours require moving around the building. The tour route is wheelchair accessible and chairs are available at all stopping points. If you have any access concerns, please let the site know when booking.
