Open Doors - Llandaff Cathedral

One of Wales' ancient Christian sites, Llandaff Cathedral is Cardiff's Anglican Cathedral. Built in 1120, it is the seat of the Bishop of Llandaff and is notable for its Gothic and Norman architecture. Restored after bombing in World War II, it remains an important place of worship and heritage, as well as one of Cardiff's most popular concert venues.

On Saturday 12 September, there will be a chance to explore the cathedral archives, join a guided tour, as well as a rare chance to take a tour of the Jasper Tower.
Additionally, the cathedral organists will offer a demonstration of the cathedral's 2010 Nicholson organ, the largest new organ of its kind in the UK.

Booking essential for the tower tours. These are for a maximum of twelve people and no

Wheelchair access is provided at the east and west ends of the cathedral. 
Car parking in the area of the cathedral is free and unrestricted. There is also a car park off Llandaff High Street which is free for the first two hours. 
It is a 10-minute train journey from Cardiff Central to Fairwater, with a 10 to 15 minute walk from Fairwater to the cathedral. 
Bus routes 25, 63 or 66 from Westgate Street (alongside the Millennium Stadium) take 25 to 30 minutes to travel to the stop at the Black Lion pub, which is near Llandaff High Street.
