Open Doors - Lôn Swan Independent Chapel
Lon Swan is an Independent Chapel and was first built in 1742, altered in 1812. The present chapel, dated 1839, is built in the Classical symmetrical style of the gableentry type. A new showpiece facade in Italian Renaissance style and Manse were added about 1880 and a schoolroom 1907. Fine chapel interior with Ushaped gallery supported on cast iron colonnettes and raised up behind the pulpit is a large organ by Bellamy of Denbigh.
The 2025 Denbigh Open Doors Weekend launches on Friday19th September 2025 with an evening lecture that explores property deeds at the Theatr Twm o'r Nant. Over the following two days, Saturday and Sunday 20th and 21st September 2025 from 10am to 5pm, over thirty historically important sites in the locale will be open to the public, supplemented by talks and guided tours. A booking service for the free sites, talks and guided tours offering a limited number of places will be available through Denbigh Library, closer to the start of the weekend.
