The Pales is a Grade II* listed Quaker Meeting House situated in Llandegley, Powys, now owned by
Addoldai Cymru. Extant records state that land was leased for a burial ground on the site as far back as 1673, and a meeting house was erected on the land in 1717 and rebuilt in 1745.

A school was held at the site for a short time in the late 19th century, and a dwelling house adjacent to the Meeting House was built for the tutor and his family. This became the Warden's House when the site was used for activities and events.

In addition to being of spiritual and historic interest, the site is situated within the new Heart of Wales Geopark.

This is an opportunity for people to visit The Pales and experience its tranquillity and special spiritual atmosphere.

Address - The Pales Quaker Meeting House, Llandegley, Llandrindod Wells, LD1 5UH.

Directions - driving through Llandegley, the turning to The Pales is signposted by a brown heritage sign. The turning meanders through countryside before narrowing and going up a steep hill. At the top of the hill, with the farm on the right, turn left. Again, this is signposted. Continue along the mountain road until you reach The Pales on your left. Drive a little further until you reach the quarry on your right, where there is ample parking.

No booking required.
