Located in Llandrindod Wells, Powys Archives serves as the official repository for the records of the county of Powys (Montgomeryshire, Radnorshire, and Breconshire). The collections date from the 14th century and can be used for all types of research, including tracing your family history, discovering the history of your house, and finding out more about the history of your village or community.

Take a tour behind the scenes into the archive store where around 100,000 individual items relating to Montgomeryshire, Radnorshire and Breconshire are housed. Peruse some of the interesting items including the oldest (a deed relating to the town New Radnor dating from 1318), Victorian Christmas cards, police charge books, school log books and photograph albums. The tour will be followed by refreshments. 

Booking required for the tours. The tours will run at 10.30am and 11.30am.
