This exceptionally fine late medieval parish church is grade 1 listed, with some of the best medieval glass in the region, and is famous for the Jesse Window, one of the seven wonders of Wales.

There has been a church on the site since the 6th century, and pilgrims still come to visit St Dyfnog’s Well just behind the churchyard. The church is in the centre of Llanrhaeadr, and attracts many visitors including those on Well Pilgrimages. The church and churchyard are appreciated as peaceful, sacred spaces.

Visitors will be able to study the Jesse window. The Book of Isaiah presents Jesse, an ancestor of Christ, as the root of a great tree. In this stained-glass window, Jesse lies at the bottom, and the tree rises from him.
