This medieval parish church is on the outskirts of the ancient township of Laugharne, and is surrounded by an interesting graveyard with atmospheric old yew trees. The church and graveyard are both grade 2 listed. Dylan Thomas, the renowned poet, is buried here.

For Open Doors, there will be numerous displays of old registers, a poster timeline of information about the church through the centuries, and old photographs, as well as ancient artefacts.

No booking required.

Address - St Martin’s Church, Church St., Laugharne, SA33 4QP.

Location - the church is situated on the left-hand side as you come into Laugharne from St Clears. There is a carpark in front of the church.

There is a fairly steep path from the Lychgate up to the church; steps at the entrance to the church; more steps internally between the nave and the chancel.
