Open Doors - St Mary's Church and Churchyard, Tintern
The ruin of St Mary's, the daughter church of the Cistercian Tintern Abbey, is a Grade II listed building and scheduled monument. It stands on an ancient sacred site in Tintern that has exceptional views.

Please note that the ruin itself is currently closed to the public for safety reasons and so you will tour the churchyard and view the ruin from the outside.

Directions - public bus no. 69 (Monmouth - Chepstow)
St Mary's overlooks Tintern Abbey and it is a steep 10 minute walk into woodland. There is no road, parking or disabled access. Dogs on leads are welcome. It can be slightly tricky to find, so you will meet outside the filling station on Tintern main road and walk up together.
