Open Doors - St Peter's Church, Dinas Powys
St Peter's Church sits within its own extensive grounds. The church was opened in 1930 as a Chapel of Ease and is a large late arts and crafts design built in a traditional way. The grounds occupy a corner site just down from the centre of the village. A community wellbeing garden occupies part of the ancient woodland in partnership with local charity, Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern.
The church will be open for family history research with a display of registers going back to 1747 and local historian available to answer questions. A general display of church archives and vestments with cream teas served on both days.
On Saturday the 20th there will be a male voice choir concert starting at 7pm.
The popular 3 churches walk (from last year) will take place on Saturday 20th September from 9 until 1pm.
