The former St Anne's Church is located in the village of Ynyshir, in the Benefice of Tylorstown in the Rhondda Valley. It was constructed in 1885. Though no longer used as a place of worship, a small community group is trying to save the building from demolition, and turn it into Ynys y Cwtsh: a community space to hold events for the residents of Ynyshir, Wattstown and beyond.

For Open Doors, there will be a talk about the history of the Champions for Ynyshir's involvement with Ynys y Cwtsh on Tuesday 24 September, which will be accompanied by a small exhibition about the history of the building. The 6:30pm lecture is entitled "All Singing From the Same Hymn Sheet: Ynys y Cwtsh, the story so far".

This exhibition will also be accessible on Saturday 28 September, 10am-2pm, when a tabletop sale will be held.

No booking required.

Address - Former St. Anne's Church and Memorial Hall, Church Terrace, Ynyshir, CF39 0ET.

There is no train station near to the venue (the closest is Porth train station, and visitors would then need to travel to Ynyshir).
The closest bus stop is outside the Station Hotel on Ynyshir Road: from here visitors can just walk down the road next to the Station Hotel, cross the bridge, and Ynys y Cwtsh is directly on the right.
Unfortunately, only on-street parking is available.
